Blend modes, also known as blending modes are use to determine how colors from two or more layers interact and blend together to create a composite image. in this Article, you will learn about Adobe Photoshop “DARKEN” blend mode and what it is used for, with image to practice with. How to Open PSD file
Double click on the downloaded PSD file, if you've installed Photoshop, it will automatically open.

Darken Blend Mode: it's a blend mode that hides only 100% white, with 0% saturation color  in an image, and blends colors that are below 100% white or color that are 100% white, but has saturation values. it can also be seen as the lower version of “Multiply” blend mode with slight difference mention below.

Practice 01:
1. Change “example 2” layer blend mode to darken.
What happen is that it blends the layer with the underlying layer.

Practice 02:
1. Turn off the "example 2" layer by clicking on the "eye icon" at the side of the layer.
2. Turn on the “example” layer, then change it blend mode to darken.
What will happen is that it completely hide the white color, and that's because it an 100% white, with 0% saturation value.

Other Facts about the Darken Blend Mode
1. It can't blend together, layers with the same image.
2. Works on layers with different image, on colors and other adjustment layers.
